Minutes from the Meeting:

OU Big Event and April Easter Egg Hunt

  • The OU Big Event went smoothly despite the unpredictable spring weather. We had roughly 15 students participating. The picked up around 2 dozen bags of trash from Lansbrook Creek and the path behind the pool. The pool house could not be painted due to the cold wet weather, but the students were able to help prep the house for painting.
  • Roughly 50 residents attended the Annual Lansbrook Easter Egg Hunt. The weather was pleasant and the kids and family who came out had a good time.

Pool and Pool House

  1. Pool house was prepped for painting by OU students, will be painted hopefully in the next few weekends.
  2. Grout is missing between flagstones around the pool in several locations, making tripping / toe stubbing hazards. Grout work needs to be done as well.
  3. Basement and bathrooms of the pool house need to be cleaned / cleared out.
  4. Several tiles in the bathrooms need to be regrouted. Aaron to reach out to the resident with tilework experience who said they’d like to volunteer to help last summer.
  5. Need to contact Jason Harris to repair Pool Lights.
  6. The goal for this year is to get the Pool up and running by mid-May.
  7. Oscar Kabrick (A.K.A “Judge”) our pool manager, has at least 4 lifeguards for the summer.
  8. There is also a Facebook page dedicated to the Lansbrook Pool for providing updates to the neighborhood. A link will be added to the Lansbrook.org website

Greenbelt

  • Spring Clean Up tentatively planned for May 17th. Goal is to work on cleaning up Brentford Park, Kensington Park, and areas along Lansbrook Creek, and the Lake.
  • Work on assessing and quantifying areas of sidewalk that need repair, or drainage improvements.
  • Need to remove the broken spring from the bumblebee spring rider playground equipment from the upper park play area.
  • Need to start gathering quotes for construction of a new multipurpose court where the old tennis court used to be. Adding a fence between Lansbrook and Stonebrook to be included in cost estimates.
  • Need to call Stonebrook to address graffiti on their white retaining wall.
  • Two contractors have been contacted to provide quotes to see how much it would cost the HOA to grade the dredge pile by the lake along the bank behind Queens Gate Rd.
  • Action is required once more to be taken out against the home operating and unauthorized Airbnb.
  • Mr. Walker Milligan recommended that we look into a Grant called Lots of Compassion, which awards 10 – $20,000 grants in 2025. The deadline for application submission is Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM PT. Our Organization must:
  • Be a non-profit or tax-exempt entity
    • Provide proof of 501(c)(3) status, fiscal sponsorship, or qualify as tax-exempt.
    • Support, work with, or serve communities with a majority of individuals that are under-resourced (systematically denied resources and opportunities or currently experiencing hardship such as a natural disaster, etc.)
    • Have fifteen or more people participate in the garden program.
    • Use the funds to build a garden on a vacant lot.
