General questions/comments
What is the HOA policy for placing garage sales outside the entrances to the neighborhood? Residents are required to have a permit from the city to have a garage sale and can only place signs on private and public property. HOA property is considered private, and therefore, any sign place at any entrance to the neighborhood will be removed.
Heather Koontz has stepped down from her board position and we have two residents who have expressed interest in filling her position for the remainder of her term, Kori Weisser and Shelly McNeil. Since there was no quorum for May’s meeting the board could not vote to add any new members. It has been suggested that the board take a vote prior to or at the next meeting to add Kori to the board since she has sat on board in the past. If a second vote to expel Adam Rött from the board due to his continued lack of involvement with the board should occur, two new members could be elected to complete the terms for Heather and Adam ending this September.
Pool and Pool House
- The pool house now has some fresh paint on it, still requires more painting, a deep cleaning in the bathrooms, and some tile work.
- The pump is working but it tends to smoke occasionally and may need attention from an electrician.
- We have hired 4 lifeguards for the summer but could use one or two more.
- Opening day is still set for Monday the 26th of May.
- Brian Johnston would like to buy rubber mulch to the place behind the diving boards to help prevent weeds and improve the walking surface.
Greenbelt
- The neighborhood clean-up for May has been postponed due to a lack of available participants, will try again in June.
- The fountain was fixed for $7,000 and should be good for the next 5+years. A new fountain similar to our current one would have been $17,000.
- Spillway on dam needs to be cleared.
- Brush tree piles were removed from Brentford park and the greenbelt between Knightsbridge Rd and Broughton Ct.
- A silver maple behind Knightsbridge has died, and needs to be chopped down. There are several other trees in the neighborhood that have also died that need cutting. The leave behind Norwich court that was presumed to be dead appears to be alive and will be left for the time being.
- The big dumpster in a tennis court is full and needs to be hauled away; Board needs to decide and June weather to get a new one.
- We got one quote so far for the cost of a new tennis court. The cost came out to $160,000 which would include a new slab to go on top of the existing, a new rubber surface, and a ten foot tall fence to go around the perimeter. Lights and security for the new court to be evaluated later. The tennis courts are expected to reconstructed sometime in 2026.
Events and Social Activities
- The food truck from May was in no show, but we have many more planned for the rest of the summer.
- We have ideas for adding new events to host in the summer, we just need volunteers to take up the leadership of these events.
- The board is interested in bringing back yard of the month, for the best kept yard in the neighborhood judged by a board member, with a sign to place in front of their yard with the owner’s permission for the duration of that month.
- Kori Weisser has suggested we have a welcoming committee that hands out a mug or some other gift to new residents and help explain things about the neighborhood.
- An arts and crafts festival in the upper park was suggested for this fall, similar to what was done in Lansbrook in years past.
- Aaron Kabrick suggested a movie night at the pool.
