At the last meeting two residents expressed interest in filling the empty board position left by Heather Koontz. Both residents, Kori Weisser and Shelly McNeil, attended the June Meeting. Shelly withdrew her candidacy for the position and Kori was elected back to the board with a unanimous vote to the vacancy, until the term ends this September.
Pool and Pool House
• The pool equipment and house have had some repairs. We have a new chlorinator motor, electrical fixes for the lights, tile repair, and new security cameras have been installed.
• The pool had some mud from the nearby hill spill into the water after the recent heavy storms, which clouded up the water. After a few days of pool closure the pool was able to reopen. Brian and his son, dug a diversion trench by the bike rack to redirect water away from the pool so this hopefully does not occur in the future.
Greenbelt
• Weekly mowing is now taking place. Several areas are being missed. We are working with Focal Pointe, our mowing contractor, to create a map of the areas they cover. They are not under contract to cover all the acreage of our green belt, but we want to see which areas we can improve on.
• The Dumpster on the tennis court is full and needs to be replaced. It costs the neighborhood roughly $425 to haul away and replace a dumpster, so we will try to exclude adding vegetation in the future.
• A vote was made on whether to remove the spoil pile behind the lake from the dredging that occurred several years back. The pile sits behind Queens Gate and Old Brompton Rd, and is now overgrown with vegetation. All board members, voted to have the pile graded along the hill and shoreline. Our engineer on the board Patrick Dolce will work one creating a grading plan and reaching out to local contractors and the city for permitting.
Lake
• The spillway has been cleared off since the last storm, yet two new log has washed up onto the dam’s spillway since then. We need to be more intentional at keeping this clear.
• The lake is treated every year for algae, however the treatment is only effective in water that is 3 or more feet of water, so algae is still occurs in the shallower areas of the lake.
Events and Social Activities
• We have resumed the sign award for Yard of the Month, with the help of some neighborhood volunteers. If there is a house you would like to nominate for next month, be sure to reach out to the board or message Tiffany Thurman on our neighborhood Facebook page.
• We are having a Fourth of July Parade this year! Event flyers are being displayed around Lansbrook. There are plans to have a fishing derby, before the parade, and events in upper and lower park following. Th parade is set to start at 11:00 AM on Friday the 4th and will begin at the half circle on Lansbrook Lane between Brentford Place and Brentford Terrace, then will proceed south to the Memorial Flagpole by the lake. Please see the flyers and Facebook post for more information.
